Courier Fleet Insurance

Courier Fleet Insurance Quotes

Courier Fleet Insurance is a specialist type of insurance designed for fleets of vehicles that transport goods, parcels, and documents. If you use your vehicles to deliver goods to multiple drop-off locations and receive payment for doing this, you will need a Courier Fleet Insurance policy to cover your liabilities at work. We can arrange cover on policies for drivers aged 21 and older.

At Patons Insurance we can provide a range of cover at competitive rates for businesses operating 2 or more vehicles. Get in touch with our team of experts for a quote today!

Goods in Transit Cover

Our experts will be able to offer you a tailored Insurance policy including Goods in Transit cover or a stand alone solution for your business.

Goods in Transit insurance for couriers covers the actual items that you’re transporting, rather than the vehicle itself. It protects against the costs of lost, stolen, or damaged items while they are being transported by your courier fleet whether they’re loaded or unloaded on to the vehicle.

While Goods in Transit insurance is not a legal requirement in the same way as van insurance, major courier networks usually require it to be included as part of your fleet courier insurance policy before you can sign contracts to deliver for them.

Let Patons compare Courier Fleet Insurance for you

Don’t waste time searching endlessly for the right quote. At Patons Insurance, we do the work for you! As brokers specialising in Courier Fleet Insurance, we compare policies from a range of insurers to find the most suitable quotes for our customers, no matter how unique their requirements may be.

If you own a fleet of courier vehicles, you will also need to cover the goods that you’re delivering. Standard Van Insurance won’t cover you should something happen to these items, which is why it’s important to have the right cover in place.

With over 50 years of expertise and industry-recognised excellence, you can count on Patons Insurance to find the right policy for you. We’re proud to service customers with unrivalled local knowledge in our 5 offices across the UK, and our commitment to excellence is reflected in our customer feedback on Feefo, where we have received their Platinum Service Award every year since 2022.

Levels of Courier Fleet Insurance

We can provide three different levels of cover for courier fleets.

Comprehensive

Comprehensive insurance is recommended to all courier fleets as this will provide cover in most accident scenarios. This includes damage to your own vehicles.

Goods In Transit cover is usually an added optional extra and is typically not included as standard for Courier Fleet Insurance policies.

Third-Party, Fire and Theft

Third-party, Fire and Theft insurance includes everything in Third-Party Only cover and will also protect your vehicles if they are damaged by fire or stolen.

Third-Party Only

Third-Party is the lowest cover of insurance a courier fleet can get and it is the legal minimum requirement. It protects your business if your drivers cause damage to someone else’s vehicle or injure a third party.

Common Courier Insurance Questions

What is the difference between Haulage and Courier Insurance?

Truck Insurance or Haulage Insurance or sometimes called HGV Insurance, provides cover for vehicles weighing more than 3.5 tonnes that typically carry a single load of goods to one drop-off point.

Courier Insurance provides cover for vehicles that typically carry goods to multiple pick-up and drop-off points.

If you need help deciding what policy works best for you, give us a call today and our team of experts can assist you with any queries you have.

Do I need Courier Insurance if I deliver parcels in a car, not a van?

Yes. Whether you deliver parcels with a van, motorbike, or standard car, you will still need Courier Insurance to protect your work as a courier.

Will my policy cover the goods that I transport?

Goods In Transit insurance protects drivers from the potential damage, loss, or theft of goods when they are being transported from one place to another.

Goods In Transit cover is not usually included as standard in a Courier Insurance policy. It is usually an optional extra that can be purchased alongside Courier Insurance.

If you’re still unsure about Goods In Transit cover and would like further help, don’t hesitate to contact us. We have a team of experts ready to help you with any questions you may have.

Does Courier Insurance include food delivery?

Some specialist policies can potentially be offered to cover couriers delivering food, but this depends on the insurer.

If you would like to enquire about food delivery specifically, don’t hesitate to give us a call today and we can help you with any specific enquiries.

Do you insure multiple vehicles under a Courier Insurance policy?

Yes, we can arrange insurance for multiple vehicles under a single policy.

As well as providing cover for one vehicle, our insurers can offer multi-vehicle policies and provide cover for Courier Fleets.

Will my Courier Insurance policy include Public Liability Insurance?

Public Liability provides cover for drivers if their actions cause injury to a member of the public, or a passenger or if drivers damage their property. It also covers any legal costs as a result of an accident not directly involving the insured vehicle.

Whether or not Public Liability is included in your policy depends on the insurer. It may be an optional extra you have to pay for, or you may need a standalone policy.

If you’re still unsure about Public Liability Insurance, we’re here to help. Give us a call today and we can answer any questions you have.

Do you give No Claims Discounts for Courier Insurance?

At Patons Insurance, we can take into account No Claims Discounts from previous Courier Insurance policies to get you discounts from the specialist insurers that we work with.

When you take out Courier Insurance through us, you will earn no claims discount at the renewal of your insurance if you are claim-free through the policy.
