The end of May sees the retirement of a well-loved Customer Service Advisor here at Patons.
Jenny, who has worked in our Dundee office for 22 years, is hanging up her headset for the final time today and leaving us to enjoy a well-deserved break!
We’re sorry to see Jenny go – she will be incredibly missed by the Dundee team and everybody else at Patons. It won’t be the same without Jenny here, but we are all really happy for her and wish her the best for the future.
Ahead of Jenny’s retirement, our Operations Director Jo Noonan says: “Jenny has been an absolute joy to work alongside for all these years and she will be genuinely missed by all of us, including our customers with whom she has built a fantastic relationship over the years.
“After all of Jenny’s hard work, she truly deserves to put her feet up, and I wish her the happiest of retirements!”
But before Jenny leaves us, we’ve given her one final task… to tell us about her time at Patons and her plans for retirement.
How were your early years at Patons?
I started working for Patons in October 2002. When I started out, we were in a small office and there were only two of us, so we had to deal with everything on our own, from New Business and Renewals to Customer Service!
But it was good as every day was different, and as we all know, Fiona liked to talk! It worked for us as a team, but as times changed, so did we, and I have since worked solely in Customer Service up until my retirement.
What were the highlights of working for Patons?
The best part of working for Patons was the opportunity to meet and interact with lots of different people from all walks of life. It’s also been really nice to meet the families of colleagues and customers over the years and see them all grow up from babies into adults.
What will you miss the most? And what are your plans for retirement?
I will miss all the colleagues I’ve worked with who have helped me throughout the years, especially those who have become good friends!
For my retirement, I plan to spend more time with Nala, my new rescue dog from Romania. I also take my neighbour’s little dog, Bonnie, out every morning and afternoon, so now I will be able to take her out more often.
I’m looking forward to meeting up with my retired friends for lunch during the week and having more time for DIY and gardening, but no TV for me during the day as I hate daytime television!
Final goodbye
Jenny, thank you for all your hard work over the years. We wish you all the best and hope you enjoy every minute of your retirement as you truly deserve it. So put your feet up, relax, and have fun with your gardening and DIY!
